Conservative columnist says Bush is "his own worst enemy"
Conservative columnist says Bush is "his own worst enemy"

Opinion
My opinion Kathleen Parker :
Iraq victory will appear as tipping point

'Victory" is the new Clintonian "is" word. As in, it depends on what your definition of "victory" is. Does victory in Iraq mean when every single insurgent is dead? Wait, no, we don't say "insurgent" anymore. The new preferred words are "Saddamist" and "rejectionist." So … when they're all dead?

Staying the course is no one's easy road, and Bush is his own worst enemy some days. He seems tired of his own slogans and platitudes. We won't cut and run. We'll stand down when they stand up. Shift to the left, shift to the right, stand up, sit down, fight, fight, fight.

In one of his speeches, Bush seemed to lose interest in his own text and didn't bother to complete a sentence about the Iraqi elections. Weary-looking and gray, he has aged dramatically in five years.
Yes, that's the man who is leading us to "victory."

3. Yes, everybody knows Bush is like a record player.
Turn it on, and he repeats repeats repeats the same same same same slogans and tired rhetoric rhetoric rhetoric.

Bush is boring. He knows it. That's why I can't understand why they would ever choose him to be their spokesperson or puppet. He's stupid, is a terrible speaker, and he lies constantly.

Worst of all, he couldn't motivate a maggot to crawl. He's no leader.

5. Nothing, absolutely nothing that Bush says or does
is of any consequence to the real power base of the fascist party. The only reason to plug him in as the titular head was to lend some pseudo-legitimacy, given that the actual power brokers do not claim to be among the high born, and besides, they have important work to do.
If he has a function it is to provide some cover in holding enough sway to retain sufficient party cohesiveness and (Bush's next big move)to fall on his sword if and when that becomes necessary.

6. Kathleen Parker is all over the map
She's hard to read. I think she is trying to be a centrist but that is so rare among columnists that it makes her seem insincere.
