Anyone remember the Will Ferrell SNL skit in '00?
It was before the election, and Will Ferrell was doing a skit where he plays Bush after winning the elction. It shows him hiding under his desk, while war rages in the background. Bush is on the phone saying something like "Daddy, who knew presidenting was so hard? I don't want to be president no more".

Who knew that skit would be so prophetic?

"I'm resigning. It turns out you American epople don't deserve a president as great as me. I'm the bestest president there ever was and someday you guys will realize that.

Welcome to DU! :)

I do indeed remember that skit and how totally on target it is/was. I hope your user ID is prophetic as well... :)

4. Except for the fact
that he relishes war, and thrives among all the death and destruction. My guess is the only thing that bothers him is the negative press (when he gets it), and the falling poll numbers.

8. In the one I remember best,
Shrub and Poppy are sitting on a dock and Poppy says, back in his day, they used to call people like Shrub retards.

They had a map on the wall where half the states had seceded, the Capitol building was on fire behind him, and he was sneaking drinks from a binoculars case on the desk.
I was always very cynical about the fact that they never repeated that sketch again - as far as I'm aware - it was like looking into the future.
