this was in LBN the other day. But I thought it important enough to repeat it here in GD. Generally I'm not into the ghoulish, but this transends most frankenstein type movies. I can't believe people are that greedy.

This is really an incentive to go back to home burials and cremations.

The brewing scandal's reach extends far beyond the New York City area.

In the fall, the FDA ordered a recall of products produced by tissue processors in New Jersey, Florida, Georgia and Texas, all customers of Biomedical Tissue Services. Since the announcement, authorities in Canada have determined that about 300 potentially tainted products were imported there, and used for dental surgery on at least two patients.

Health officials advised physicians that patients who were implanted with the tissue should be tested for HIV, hepatitis and other infectious diseases. The officials said they believed the health hazards were minimal, and no infections have been reported since the FDA warning.

for a long while. It's ghoulish and horrible. Figures it would be going on under the Bushies. They had a big funeral home scandal at the beginning of his Administration in Florida, Georgia and Texas.

In Atlantic County, N.J., three people who got bone transplants from tissue believed to have been illegally harvested from New York funeral home corpses have tested positive for hepatitis and syphilis in the past 10 days, an area lawyer told The Press of Atlantic City for Friday newspapers.

"Unfortunately, the more we learn about the facts surrounding this case, as well as the facts about the tissue and bone industry as a whole, the greater our understanding becomes of what a large-scale problem we have going on here,'' said lawyer Andrew Darcy, whose Galloway Township, N.J., law firm has filed suits naming Biomedical Tissue Services and two other tissue banks.

I'm surprised DU'ers and average Americans are pushing this story to the High Heavens! :shrug:

Bodies of our Relatives being abused before burial or cremation...graveyards maybe being desecrated like from a Frankenstein Movie...and no one cares?
