AAR = Always Another Repeat
Most of AAR is repeats all this week, and last week too.

It's disappointing to me to find that Air America Radio will decide to take a week or two off at the drop of a hat. I sure wish I could do that.

It must be "hard work" for them being "limousine liberals."

1. Mike Malloy fills in for Randi most of this week.
And Peter Werbe fills in for Mike.

13. Thom Hartmann will be in for Sam & Jeaneane --
Thom is great! Thom is also live this week on his own show - I stream it. There were 'live' shows on yesterday - two of the them - one had live interviews with John Kerry and John Conyers. There were 'live' shows almost all last week -- it has been confusing re: who is filling in for whom, but lots better than last year's repeat after repeat.

3. It's a holiday week, and traditionally the lowest ratings of the year.
The Daily Show is off, too. Are they also "limousine liberals"? (With friends like the OP, who needs Republicans?)

Cool your jets — they'll be back on 1/2.

15. Actually the Daily Show is worse than anybody.
When was the last time they had new epsiodes on for more than one consecutive month?

I don't know if that makes Jon a "limousine liberal", but I do know the show's been MIA a lot lately when they had great material to work with, thanks to the disintegration of the Chimpville house of cards.

21. It's in the show's contract to have 3 weeks on, one week off.
Hard enough to write a comedy show daily, let alone one that must be topical with the day's events, so that everything has to be written by a 5:30 taping.

by listening to the White Rose Society.

Go listen to 12/21/05 of the Randi Rhodes Show where Mike Malloy is the substitute and talks to Will Pitt.

Let me not forget to remind folks to drop a dime in the kitty too ! :applause:

18. Thom Hartmann is on *live* now --
Link here: <http://www.radiopower.org/talkradio/>

By the way, the dude from Ayn Rand Institute is up first - Thom has them on so that we can hear (and he can argue) with one of the sources of the modern conservative philosophy.

I think Thom is supposed to get back to us today about the New Mexico election fraud lawsuit...

19. Give them a break
It is typical to take this week off. Republican radio probably does the same, although they always sound like repeats all year long to me.

Mike will return tomorrow (Tuesday) on Randi's show.

I miss them too, but I understand.

20. Do you have a clue, what in the fuck are you talking about....
Edited on Mon Dec-26-05 01:51 PM by Zinfandel
Mike Malloy will be live doing Randi's show most of this week, live doing his own show in the beginning of the week, the excellent Peter Werbe will be live, doing the rest of Malloy's show the end of this week...

The smooth & excellent Thom Hartmann will be live all week doing the 4 to 7 time slot...and Hartmann will also be live all week in his 9 to 12 time slot on his own networks (and he's ten times better than Franken, Hartmann is a true radio pro).

Since most EVERY talk show host is off for the Holiday week, and that includes Franken, Rhodes, Schultz, Ward, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity, Savage, etc. etc. etc...

Why don't you send in a donation to AAR instead of trashing the only liberal radio network in the country...Air America Radio, could always use the extra donations to break into the smaller markets to acquire affiliate stations...Donate... www.airamericaradio.com

Just another "hit & run" thread!

24. AAR
Except for local gal Wendy Wilde (and occasionally Big Ed from Jones Radio who, for some reason, persists in hanging up on callers who agree with him while allowing right wingers to rant on), I don't listen to AAR any more. The constant stammering of the show hosts was too annoying for me. And just the other day ( I believe it was Stephanie Miller) a hostess kept harping on about her butt rather than in dealing with substantive issues.

This is not to say that I disagree with the contents of their shows. On the contrary, I find that the show hosts are superbly well informed and defend their positions on issues quite well. Their messages can be delivered FAR more effectively but they choose not to do so. Unless and until the shows shape up, I will not listen to them again.

Listen to Thom Hartmann on four to Six on AAR and then tell me the liberal on AAR don't make their message "FAR more effectively" than any right-wing radio clown!!!

Such snobbery!!!

28. Nobody you mentioned even works for AAR
Ed "Mush Clone" Schultz doesn't, Stephanie Miller doesn't, and obviously your local personality doesn't either. So you would seem to be criticizing AAR for programming content that they have nothing to do with. Perhaps you should talk to your local affiliate. Or the individual air personalities who have their own websites/e mail/phone lines.

33. Local AAR
I mentioned above that Big Ed is from Jones and Wendy Wilde is a local AAR show. Stephanie Miller is on from 5:00pm onwards.

The Twin Cities is one of the more liberal areas in the USA and yet AAR is rarely mentioned in public commentary. Even Al Franken who is from this area is rarely mentioned. And you're right about the local station as it has much too much air wave interference. This has been brought to their attention and luckily there is far less of that problem.
