Rumsfeld doubts Osama in position to command al-Qaeda
Edited on Sun Dec-25-05 08:08 PM by NVMojo
US defence secy visits Pakistan unannounced; praises Musharraf's role in terror war
Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan government had made preparations for the brief visit of US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld about a week ago when it was officially conveyed that the high-ranking US official would visit the country.
His travel here, however, remained a guarded secret. It was the Ministry
of Defence that coordinated the few hours that Rumsfeld spent in Pakistan. While the main reason for Rumsfeld's visit was to bring some holiday cheer to the American troops in Afghanistan and Pakistan - and that was all that he wanted to include in his itinerary - the US embassy was convinced that a call on President Pervez Musharraf would be appreciated.

After the high-profile visit of Vice President Dick Cheney on Tuesday and his extensive meetings at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Rumsfeld spent very little time with Musharraf in the afternoon. The official electronic media did not cover the event.

Neither the Army nor the president's office was surprised that the United States has started withdrawing its troops and helicopters from the quake-hit regions. "With the passage of time these US helicopters had to return to Afghanistan where they are also needed at this time. The troops connected with these helicopters had also to return. Our main concern is the American hospital in Azad Kashmir (MASH), which is doing some excellent work," ISPR chief Maj-Gen Shaukat Sultan told The News.

According to western diplomatic sources, Dick Cheney informed Musharraf
on Tuesday that MASH would continue functioning till March 2006 when it will be decided, assessing the situation on the ground, whether the US government will extend its stay or if its personnel will also return.

5. Maybe if Musharref wasn't so busy building a nuclear strike force
He could take care of his own earthquake victims.

Musharref is one of the biggest promoters on terrorism on earth. That is why he and Rumsfeldt get along. Where would Pentagon war profiteers be without the unceasing labor of creating, training, and maneuvering terrorist cadres around Asia? Pakistans air force saved al qaeda forces from destruction early on in the Afghanistan conflict.

von Rumsfeldt disingenuously claimed to know nothing of it.

6. There's the real truth.
I absolutely agree about Pakistan. I've said that our most dangerous enemies are:

1) Saudi Arabia
2) Pakistan

Pervez Musharraf is a dictator. He took over that country in a coup a few years ago = he is not a democratically elected leader. And yet, we consider him a "paragon of democracy", and a "moderate leader" which is a dangerous lie.

Musharraf has wrapped Washington around his little finger. He's gotten huge loans forgiven; I think around $4 billion dollars. Last year, he walked away with some very expensive toys: Washington gave him several MiG fighters with nuclear bomb capability. They were worth several billion. Indian went into a thermonuclear meltdown over that one. They were beyond upset.

Also keep in mind that the 9/11 hijackers were mostly Saudi's (see dangerous enemy #1). Noam Chomsky says that these hijackers were trained in Pakistan.

And we call these people our friends?

9. Perhaps this is why we haven't heard from OBL since Nov. 1, 2004
The day before the election...

No new videos, no new major messages, no new terror alerts.

amazing.
