Merck & Co., attorneys Diane Sullivan and Stephen Raber react Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, after Merck & Co. won a major victory in the battle over its Vioxx painkiller. Pfizer Inc. was even more prepared than usual when it met with a federal advisory committee that would decide whether to recommend an inhaled insulin for approval. (AP Photo/Noah K. from this story...

Vioxx Judge Sees Never-Ending Docket

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - For someone mired in judicial purgatory, Superior Court Judge Carol Higbee is remarkably upbeat.

She doesn't want pity — many judges work as hard, she says. She doesn't want publicity — it makes her uncomfortable, and she grants interview requests grudgingly.

She just wants justice — and she's ready to dispense it, one Vioxx case at a time, even if it takes a lifetime.

And at the current rate, it could, assuming the cases are not settled or withdrawn.

2. The one on the left already looks dead.
Her hair bleached, her skull dried, her artificially tanned skinned hanging off it. The pukes get behind people like this??

3. The pukes will get behind anybody who will ensure them big piles of money
and/or new recruits for their reich.

4. Will this open the door to more companies willing to take a chance
on a questionable drug?

7. Probably not.
Knowlingly putting dubious stuff on the market is something that some companies in the pharmaceutical industry have been doing for decades.

This is just one case out of thousands. (There are more than 4,000 other lawsuits regarding Vioxx alone.) So by itself it's not that great a barometer of how lax the courts are about such things.

5. Bastiges. Shame on them... and their product isn't even
necessary.... there are products in nature such as ginger, tumeric, curcumin and others that do EXACTLY what Vioxx does, only better and certainly safer.
