FBI Tracks Radiation At Mosques Warrants Not Needed
WASHINGTON -- A classified radiation monitoring program, conducted without warrants, has targeted private U.S. property in Seattle and other cities in an effort to prevent an al-Qaida attack, federal law enforcement officials confirmed Friday.

While declining to provide details including the number of cities and sites monitored, the officials said the air monitoring took place since the Sept. 11 attacks and from publicly accessible areas -- which they said made warrants and court orders unnecessary.

U.S. News and World Report first reported the program on Friday. The magazine said the monitoring was conducted at more than 100 Muslim sites in the Washington, D.C. area -- including Maryland and Virginia suburbs -- and at least five other cities when threat levels had risen: Chicago, Detroit, Las Vegas, New York and Seattle.

2. Checking for ambient radiation from an area off the property
isn't the same thing as warrantless wiretaps or illegal searches of computers, papers, health records, banking records, library checkouts, and book store purchases.

I don't care where they check for ambient radiation (although NM is so polluted they'd never be able to tell low level stuff from the background), although it seems a little silly to target mosques. It might have made a bit more sense to target apartment buildings where some of the residents have no means of financial support.

3. its not the lack of warrants that bothers me. its the lack of intelligence
in our so called 'intelligence' agencies.

they waste all of their time and our money on stupidity and yet they let 9/11 happen.

total incompetence and corruption.

4. One thing Sis said about her Homeland Security classes
She said the instructors repeated a lot of stereotypes about Muslims.

That must've been akward for her considering that she is Muslim.

That and the fact that they work closely with the Israeli Counsalate in designing security programs.

Great, an American/Israeli security state. Fun.
