1. No wiggle room? They're already wiggling...

The wiggle I heard today was that old chestnut, advocacy as opposed to opinion. They're saying that he wrote his Roe vs. Wade memo as an attorney for a client, and that it doesn't mean it reflects the way he'd view a case brought before him on the court. Anyway, that's the way I heard it today.

2. Don't kid yourself.....

this doesn't matter in the least. There is no way to stop Alito from confirmed. He could come right out and say that he intendeds to see Roe Vs. Wade overturned and that would only work in his favor. If the republicans can be assured that Alito would work to overturn Roe Vs Wade they will not hesitate to use the 'nuclear option'. This has been one of the their goals for a long time.
