Why the Nazis and the Soviets must be brought up (My Email to KFOR 1240)
They claimed Democracy was a failed idea, that open government with respect for individual rights and differences of opinion made us weak.

They claimed that their system with no debate, with no individual rights, with total secrecy, with a leader and a party that was not just above the law, they were the law, made them strong.

In reality our open system of government proved to be the stronger, and their closed system of government proved to be the weaker.

This is because an open system of government can't cover for it's incompetence and criminality they way a closed system of government can.

So in a closed system of government the incompetence and criminality can only get worse, because they think they can get away with anything.

I regret slipping back into talking about how bad it was to support such "Nazilike and Stalinistic" ways of doing things, rather than sticking with talking about how weak and stupid it was to support such ways of doing things.

Certainly the crimes committed, and the death toll left by the Nazis and the Soviets has not been surpassed, not yet anyway.

My point is that their's is not the way to go, not if we want to be strong, not if we want to be free.

Congratulations on your new born son, and thank you for your time.
