Maureen Dowd - Like or Not

I happen to like Maureen Dowd. I really enjoy her wit.

I see a lot of different opinions about her on DU and wanted to get a concensus.

But I find her unprofessional and silly. She writes OK but she comes across very poorly in interviews. Give me Molly Ivins any day.

I saw her on Letterman and she was quite funny (and correct) in describing the leak case to Dave.
Now was she actually funny or was it because she looked hot (which she did)? hmmmm

She's the resident liberal and she continually trashed Gore for essentially being unmanly. There was no substance, just ridicule that caught on in the corporate media. She was part of the many reasons Gore is not in the WH now. :cry:

15. Well, I'm on the fence. I want to like her, but I'm not a huge fan of

her writing style. She's obviously smart, and makes some interesting points. She also has a point of view I don't really agree with sometimes, but its one I might be able to come around on once in a while.

What keeps me on the fence is I want to learn more about where she's coming from, who she is I guess. (And I suppose reading her books would do that but I don't think I could make it through one because of her style.) So I'm always interested to hear what she has to say in interviews to see if that will put me over the edge but in interviews she barely says anything--at least the ones I've seen.

I really could go either way. I don't like her, but I don't dislike her either. I'd read her column if it was still free or if I happen to pick up the paper and she's in it that day, but I'm not going to go out of my way to seek it out.
