But I did get a chill when David Brooks (Conservative Columnist) from the New York times said in a somewhat worried tone, "I think in the long run, the civil liberties, if we get hit again, all these civil liberties debates will be out the door." This statement was from Monday's News Hour with Jim Leher broadcast where they were talking about the Bush Spy Scandal, but when I heard David Brooks (a long time Bush cheerleader) become worried over what this administration is doing and the implication of the consequences for the American People, it was like someone rubbed an ice cube down my spine.

Call me a tin-foil hat theorist all you want, but I think the only reason why we haven't been hit again is:
1) 9/11 gave PNAC their war for the Middle East's oil.
2) another hit prior to 2004 would have cost Bush the Election.
