21. Has he said anything more about running for the Senate?
Is he really moving to Minnesota next month? That must be to establish residency. It's not the best place to be for in-studio guests, but I guess he can get phone guests like I do.

4. It's actually really good. I also recommend the book on tape/CD,
as it features original sound bites that are often very effective, and Al does a great job reading.

A very thorough discussion of the Abramoff/Scanlon scam too, from before the arrests and indictments.

5. Franken's book has been on the NYT best sellers list for weeks.
Last I saw he was #8? I think? How many books have to be sold to be on that list? O'LIELLY is just jealous because NO ONE buys his books. :)

24. Not true!!!!!!
O'Reilley buys them by the thousands and gives them away for emails to his TV show, calling his radio show. and just to spread around to get the numbers.
You can usually find his books along with Coulter and Hannity's on most right wing sites free just for registering.

7. Bill, it may comes as a shock, is a tad confused
http://www.publishersweekly.com/article/CA6289950.html?text=al+franken
--snip--
The Truth with Jokes debuted at #1 on the New York Times Bestseller List in October, and has spent four weeks on the list, coming in at #6 this week.

Can't spend that much time on the list with that high a rating and sell 150k. Bill must have confused his own sales with Al's.

8. Very nice of Bill to drive attention to the book. Maybe he'll find a
reason sue Al as well. Keep selling Al's book Bill. He'll take all the attention he can get. I don't have it yet. I could borrow it from a friend. Al doesn't really need the money. I do. But now I'm gonna buy it anyway.

12. This shouldn't come as any surprise that this prick would be wrong about
something. After all, this is the same guy in the fall of '04, who claimed that Air America had only 12 affliates, when at the time, they had about 40.

It would more of a shock if O'Reilly were actually right about something.

(Not O'blowhard's numbers, but the reported sales figures.)

I have my copy of The Truth (and Lying Liars, as well as a few dozen other books) on my Palm. Bought it at 12:01 am on its release date.

If O'Reilly is saying something that would be viewed as bad for the left, there is 110% change he simply pulled it out of his ass.

17. Well, I can account for 2 of those copies.
And when he appeared at the local Barnes & Noble, there were over six hundred people there, all having him sign at least one copy
of his book.
Anecdotally, this means Bill O'Really is full of shit. Again. And again. And again.
And you don't stay on the NYT bestseller list for 4 weeks or more without a (+) next to your book (a + indicates bulk orders...O'Really's books have those next to them often) and sell only 150k copies.
You just don't.

18. It's a truly excellent book.
It would be good for the laughs alone (lots of them), but it is also an important book WRT the facts. A very valuable book, IMO. You will be angry when you read it (Franken is), but you will also have a lot of laughs. It's a great combination.

19. A short story regarding Franken's book:
I went shopping at the mall a few days ago, and went into the bookstore (Waldenbooks). I noticed quite a few copies of Al's book at the front, but I walked past and headed for the travel aisle (I'm considering Vegas for next year's vacation, if you're wondering). I left the store without purchasing, and upon leaving, noticed that every single copy of Franken's book was turned around, so the back covers were showing. From the time I entered the store to the time I left, some FFF (fascist Freeper f*ck) did his dirty work and left. Naturally, I took the time to rectify the situation, and spent a few minutes perusing Al's book. Honestly, I'll buy it and read it someday, hopefully soon (I almost never have time to read, sadly. I think I said the same thing about Jimmy Carter's book, which was next to Al's. I think I might have to take a vacation just to catch up on some reading :) ).

22. OT: We're going to Vegas in February. We'll be at the Flamingo
timeshare -- we're owners out there.

Here's a funny story: The first time my husband suggested that we go to Las Vegas, I asked him, "What will I do? I don't drink much and I don't gamble."

Well, to be honest with you, when I actually got there, we had a HUGE fight because we couldn't agree what to do -- there were so many choices! That place is so much fun. We go horseback riding, swim, get massages, go to top shows and the Star Trek ride, and just walk a lot -- people-watching in Vegas is a ribald pleasure, almost as fun as NYC! There is so much to see and do.

Have a good vacation (wherever you go...)

Wishing you a happy, healthy, and hearty holiday season,

Radio_Lady in Oregon

23. Thanks for the heads-up, Radio_Lady!
My plans for Vegas still aren't set in stone yet, but it's the stories I hear about Vegas from the people who've been there (like you) that makes me want to start making the reservations. If I go, though, it'll probably be in the summer (tourist season, but that's when I usually vacation).

Happy holidays to you and your family, as well. :)
