Blair does a monthly news conference. Why doesn't Bush?
Maybe because he can't handle the press because he isn't fit to be president.

Blair is a bloodthirsty asshole too, but at least he can complete a sentence.

8. I have a lot more respect for Blair since I went to London this summer
The bombings were the day I arrived. I thought he kept his composure and handled it like a true professional.

2. Because he is already on the television
in one way or another flapping his lips about nothing on a daily basis. He would just feed us a line of b.s. anyway.

3. perhaps britons have a higher tolerance to slime?
Blair is a barrister (expensive lawyer), Bush is a witless drone
Blair crawls into the bearpit of Prime Minister Questions once a week and can give a good account of himself, Bush has intense sycophancy sessions with his underlings.
Blair is a slimey, greasy, lying warmonger who insists it's the rest of us that have got it all wrong ... hey they do have something in common then.

9. that sounds like an invitation
and I wish the rat would take it up.
Seriously, IANAL but I think he'd have to pass a bar examination before he could practice law in the US.
I did work with someone many years ago whose brother had degrees in Scots, English and American law. (but he was extremely brainy and it took him years to qualify}

Blair may be a bastard where it concerns Iraq but he at least acts like someone who represents his country. I love to watch the Commons time and him debating just like the rest of them and defending his view etc. It's very impressive. Bush wouldn't survive a pissed off democrat especially Teddy.

10. Blair can speak in complete, grammatically-correct sentences
AND, he is intelligent even though he does not always make the best decisions

11. blair answers to the house of commons frequently taking questions
and having to actually answer them. bush cannot under any circumstances face questions
from people who are opposed to him or have different views.

just look at the pathetic excuse for journalists that attend his news conferences.
they are all afraid of him.

12. Taking questions and having to actually answer them
Blair is very articulate, for sure, but I have to laugh every time he takes a question at PMQ and blames something on the "previous government" which he ousted in, um, 1997.

13. He found an even easier way to give speeches:
He hands the text to the "news media" and they read it verbatim, on the air.
