I'll bet that's the act that kept the NYT from coming forward with the NSA story for so long. I can't believe though that they could fall for that rehearsed song and dance.

He still hasn't explained what exactly he needs that has been taken away from him with the tabling of the Patriot Act. Nothing but generalities and accusations that Congress is letting terrorists go. Just a load of bluster and bullshit.

Of course, no one asked him precisely what he thinks he needs to catch terrorists that Congress supposedly took away from him.

2. Since he's breaking the law by spying on Americans
anyway, why should it matter to him that the Patriot Act is passed or not? I expect him to call a press conference some day and announce that he's dissolved Congress and become a dictator. He's already said a dictatorship would be easier-if he were the dictator.

That window evidently has narrowed considerably since 1998, though it might not have closed completely. Sen. Orrin G. Hatch, a Utah Republican, said after Tuesday's attacks that the United States had intercepted a call between two bin Laden associates suggesting their involvement.

Such information is highly classified, and intelligence officials were furious that Hatch had disclosed it, fearing the targets would be warned not to use telephones, the Chicago Tribune reported.

8. Bin Laden is not a US citizen so Bush could have done that without
passing secret and illegal measures to take on all of domestic wiretapping.

9. Exactly....please don't get sidetracked with the OBL
story....this is about the Inalienable rights granted to Citizens of the United States by the Constitution/Bill of Rights.

The question becomes: How many of your rights are you willing to give up to FEEL secure? If you give up so many rights, haven't the "terrorists" won anyway? Where do we draw the line? Is it one thing to voluntarily give up certain rights in the name of fightin' terra, and a different thing to have those rights taken from us without our knowledge or approval?
