How do we change the way bills are dealt with? one bill one vote
screw this rider shit. Lets make our government transparent and how the laws are created transparent.

1. Interesting idea.
If I understand, it would be the same as line item, for everyone.

Every item in every bill has 2 places for checkmarks next to it: "Yes" and "No".

on the Defense bill, say - which has to be passed eventually - was infuriating. But, I realize it's a procedural ploy, and sometimes I support the intent as well as the result, ie, when McCain chose to ride his torture motion on any and all bills...it's often abused, though, especially on less hot topic issues.

The public doesn't have the time, generally, to wade through the specifics and they usually get no mention in the press.

I doubt it will change. That procedure lives in the same realm of any number of amendment votes that come back to haunt political candidates, when taken out of context. Part of our political process.

I wish it were not so.
