Why Is Biden On The Sunday Talk Shows All The Time?
Serious question. I have no idea, at least none that make me say "Eureka, that's it!" "Bingo," whatever.
It's not a matter of IF Joe is on a Sunday talk show, it's which one (s)?

1. LOL! Good point. He's a guy who is a has=been, and doesn't
grasp the fact that he will never be prez, but understands the power of the media, and is trying to work that, to no avail.

2. Uh, 'cause he needs the money to pay for his plug job?
Or, all the other DLCers are at the weekly treehouse party and poor Joey isn't invited?

You tell me.

4. He want's to be Pres, and I suspect he has the right connections to
the people in the media. I'd bet lots of people try to get on those shows, but only a few have the connections to make it happen.

15. You got it!
He's a candidate for Pres in 2008 and will do whatever is necessary to be in the limelight between now and the primaries.

13. God's lips to my fingers
Senator Biden lives in Wilmington, Delaware and commutes to Washington, DC when the Senate is in session. He is married to the former Jill Jacobs, and is the father of three children: Beau, Hunter and Ashley. The Bidens also have two daughters-in-law, Kathleen and Hallie, and four granddaughters: Naomi, Finnegan, Roberta Mabel and Natalie.

7. I think he's just trying to get lots of face time with the pundits
Edited on Mon Dec-19-05 12:28 AM by ocelot
because he wants to run in '08. Bet he's got a staffer who's always calling up the shows' producers to let them know he's "available." It's free publicity, and Joe has never been shy. But I don't care if he gets his own damn talk show; he's a bloviating DLC sellout with hair plugs who's a wholly-owned subsidiary of MBNA and who hasn't a snowball's chance in hell of getting the nomination.

8. There's a subset of senators who are always on
Biden, Hagel, Schumer, Shelby, Lott, Levin. And McCain, always McCain. These are the guys who want to be on TV every week. My question is, why do the producers of these shows think that anyone wants to watch these guys.

12. Boxer and I don't know who else put together a plan to get Dems
on shows and it's apparently been working very well. I think I read that about 30 Senators and Reps (or is it just Senators?) are in a rotating "pool". Biden is in the group...but his appearances were frequent way before this system ever started.

14. Maybe because he is
United States Senator, sent to Washington by the people of his state and has something to say.

16. Because he's a "credible" Democrat.
And by credible I mean, "corporate mouthpiece".
