3. Most interesting to me was the

segment interviewing the German who was rendered from a vacation in Macedonia and taken to Kabul. After 5 months he was returned to a dark road in Albania (I think) not to Germany.

And then there is a segment about the Gretna police chief's decision to turn back people (women, children, elderly) trying to leave NO because they had no room in Gretna to accommodate any more.

They have always been consistently tweaking anyone abusing power. I appreciate their work all the more now as I am not sure I know of any other group allowed to do that by their corporate owners anymore.

4. You can't recycle those damned catalogs

at least you can't here. They accept newsprint and computer paper, only.

Those glossy catalogs are landfill, along with all the magazines we don't recycle to hospitals, laundromats, dentists' offices, etc.

Sometimes I just go to the city yard, where it has those huge containers - for those of us who do not wait for trash day - and one of them is specifically labeled: catalogs. About twice a year I just collect all of them, and magazine that I know will never be read and carry them over.
