CBS Evening "news" talking about Bush and 2005
Edited on Sun Dec-18-05 06:29 PM by linazelle
Social Security stalled, UN ambassador nomination problems, chief justice, CIA Leak, Iraq War, Katrina...Brownie...

The "good news": "no terrorist attacks on American soil" :eyes:..."Iraqi elections..." ""a series of candid speeches...saw dismal poll numbers begin to rise in December" :wtf:; "no one should count this president out."

The only reason I ever watch this tripe is to remind myself WHY I don't watch it.

1. "soaring poll numbers"? Did they actually say that?

3. "a series of candid speeches...saw dismal poll numbers begin to
rise in December" is what they actually said. I had to rewind to be sure.

8. Soaring?
If this is their definition of "soaring", I hope they don't become pilots.

2. Soaring poll numbers?
Do they live in some alternate reality?

7. Straight from the Colbert Report
He referred to "Bush's skyrocketing approval ratings in the last two weeks", which were up two percent. He went on to extrapolate that at that rate, Bush will leave office with an amazing 122% approval rating. But that was SATIRE!

4. I just heard it too...Definitely playing the role of Bush's whore
And someone saying never count Bush out, and how it might actually be a good thing that he's having all this trouble in the 5th year of his presidency...b/c it gives him the chance to re-bound in the 6th year.

I just shook my head...

5. "Look at me, Mom!" I'd shout as I ran around the yard. . .
"I'm soaring!

And Mom would chuckle and shake her head, then mutter to the dog, "Something wrong with that boy's head."

6. They do a good job of summarizing what CNN, MSNBC and
FAUX have been clucking about all day in half an hour. It's really all you need to know of the daily propaganda spin. It saves a lot of time, which you can spend on the internet ferreting out the real news.

9. I certainly won't count Sumner Redstone's influence on the "news" out
Let's face it -- a conservative bent in your programming makes money. Isn't that worth sacrificing everything?
