with NONE being denied. 2004 became the third year in a row in which FISA electronic surveillance applications have reached all-time highs since * authorized the secretive NSA wiretaps in 2001. So in all reality, this arbitrary number of "500" wiretaps is completely misleading according to documents provided by the Department of Justice. I cannot say that I am not shocked by the misinformatino that the media is portraying, but even the numbers that are divulged through FOIA are incredibly misleading. The real reality of it is that we will never know the real extent of what is going on. Couple this with federal agents visiting a Senior a UMass for his library records for reading Mao's "Quotations from Chairman Mao Tsetung" ( http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x1993552 ) and I am ready for the tinfoil hat...

I think it was sometime during the Clinton administration. I know it's usually 100% that get approved.
