I checked my thermometer this afternoon, and it was 39 degrees. Looked at a weather site and noticed Reykjavik, the most northern capital in Europe, was 46 degrees. Hell, it would be more fun over there playing in the Blue Lagoon and drinking a strong beer than this crap we have in Alabama.

Earth to George: There is some strange shit going on with the weather. You might want check it out.

1. When I was growing up in the Shoals
winters there were always miserable. The wet wind whipping off the river cut like razor blades. I remember standing on the banks of the Tennessee at Waterloo to see Halley's Comet one New Year's and freezing my ass off. Brutal cold!

4. That was 1986
I'm either as old or as young as you, maybe. After all, it's all perspective.

I'll soon be 43.

8. Hell, my mind must be going
For some reason I was thinking that was in the 50s. There was one that we watched with our cheap Sears telescope back then, but I can't remeber the name. Or, was it the 60s? It's hell when you start approaching 60.

5. It is supposed to get to 8 below zero tonight and I saw a bunch of
fools camping out on the sidewalk in front of Best Buy to get X-Boxes.

6. Yeah, but some of it is the relative response
to the temperature. People in brutal winter country are used to it. My sis in Mobile gets a dose of 32 degrees and is absolutely miserable.

11. Amen Elwood!
I was just saying to my wife today that we never get this kind of weather in December! Birmingham was 28 on Friday morning.

28 degrees! That's just stupid!
