What exclusives did NYT get for keeping this story quiet?
I'm trying to think back over the last year to remember which stories (especially ones helpful to this misAdministration) the NYT's broke during the period they were in such heavy negotiations with the WH to not tell about Shrub spying on Americans.

"Please, please don't tell - we'll give you access!" Then use it to launch the propoganda.

1. But the thing is - they didn't get exclusives
Edited on Sat Dec-17-05 01:19 PM by Marie26
The Washington Post & other papers were breaking exclusives all over the place on the Bush ad., while the NY Times stayed mostly silent. They were even being scooped on the CIA leak case, which their own reporter was involved in. I guess you could say they got the "scoop" on the false WMD evidence. :eyes: But that became mostly an embarrassment later on - yet they still sat on this story. I don't know, I'm stumped. Maybe it was not so much a question of access as a question of coziness or support for the Bush Administration.

2. What "Liberal Media?" I have to ask over and over...
what "liberal media" or "responsible media" would keep something like this under wraps for a year?

3. The NYT got killed in the deal
I used to log on regularly - prior to 911 - and I trusted the NYT.

Now, I ignore and ridicule that rag the same way I ignore and ridicule F(UX) News.
