1. No U.S. citizen had anything to do with 9/11 None!
So why is W spying on us? Why didn't W try to capture OBL rather than spy on us?

I am so angry. We fly and must have our shoes off, we're wanded, and watched closely.

No American had anything to do with 9/11 but we are being spied on as suspects? This is insane.

3. Are you preempting the new talking point?
Perhaps, "We'd rather fight them over here than fight them over here."

What do we have to do? Why would Congress leave Washington at a time like this? America is under attack!!!!!!!!!!!

7. Good point.
We should fight the enemy here. Those grandmas & gramps getting on flights are really OBL terrorists.

W has allowed the listening to their conversations.

4. I wish one of the so-called "journalists"....
would mention that maybe, just maybe, if this president had been paying attention to things like THE FUCKING PDB in the first place, he wouldn't have to CHEAT!

All the tools in the world don't mean a thing if you are too incompetent to use them in the first place!

:grr:

5. Spying on Americans takes a higher priority....
than finding Osama Bin Laden.

If he doesn't go down for this, I give up.

6. I've said that so many times,
I don't trust myself any more.

Arlen Specter being on the case doesn't do me confidence either.

It's the American people I'm concerned about. It is illegal to wiretap a phone conversation without a warrant. George Bush obviously thinks he is above the law. In the meantime, study up on the history of our Founding Fathers and the Constitution. Here are a couple of quotes to get you started:

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
-Benjamin Franklin

Whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends (life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness) it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government...
-Thomas Jefferson

15. Sorry kid...I'm not here to do your homework for you.
I gave you some great starting points. And I'm sure you already know that Google is a great resource. Here's another hint for you: Library Book FBI

But truthfully, I think you might be in the wrong forum (and I think you know it.) You see, I get that sense of "It's all about me" from you. So even if "you" might not notice a change in "your" daily life (what do you want...a giant yellow flashing light or something?) don't think that "your" rights aren't being eroded as we speak.

BTW, You do realize that hundreds of thousands of Iraqis might feel a little displaced these days? Maybe their daily lives have been "altered" a tad. (Those blown up babies are such a downer.) But hey! Saddam's rape/torture rooms are gone now! Yippee!

16. Well, to begin with, I've lost the peace of mind of knowing
that my government can't spy on me or go into my house and look through my stuff without good cause.

Put that in your essay. :)

20. I lost the right to...
read whatever I please without fearing the FBI is watching me.

I have lost the right to feel safe from my own government, even though I have done nothing wrong.

I have lost the right to peacefully assemble with my fellow citizens without being branded a traitor to the country I love.

I can no longer proudly teach my children to respect their government.

I can no longer get through a day without wanting to cry or punch the TV because of the lies and spin they are feeding us.

I can no longer look at a fellow American without wondering if they are drinking the kool-aid, and helping the *admin take away our civil liberties.

I got more... I'll get back to you. :(
