So, who will be surprised when energy companies post record profits again?
I could not believe the obscene profits that were posted in that last quarter. While we are struggling to make ends meet, they are stuffing their pockets full of money. Heck, they could burn $1 bills for heat this winter and it wouldn't make a dent.

I don't begrudge a company for making a profit, but on necessary commodities like gas and heat, isn't there a breaking point? Gas and heat are necessitities. Sure, you can cut back in response to the market, but it's not like you can easily do without.

So, why not efforts to control price gouging? Windfall profit taxes? Instead, we have a refusal to allocate more money to help people (which would just end up being taxpayer funds enriching corporations).

And, our friends and neighbors just shrug their shoulders again in resigned compliance.

So much suffering, but let us rejoice in the free market while it runs amok. Who the hell is looking out for us?

2. The energy companies will post more record profits
and W will say that's good. His sheeple will agree.

And we will take a loss in our standard of living. Our poor will be most hurt.

4. No surprise here judging from increases in gas prices.
But I do wonder how many people will be ignored while they're freezing to death? Not everyone has someone to bail them out financially.

6. No free market here.
It's completely controlled by the elite.

Wasn't it amazing, right after Katrina, how fast the CM announced that the energy prices would skyrocket? How did they know? They must be pretty smart, or something.

A couple days off line and the whole system's out of whack for the winter? I think not.

What happened to California a few years ago is about to happened to the entire country, and nobody's gonna stop 'em.
