That's the latest spin. All that stuff about having all those pills and being involved in a drug sting...that was all made up. And that stint in drug rehab...never happened. This is how the parallel universe works...outta sight, outta mind.
Roy Black knows how to play the media. He's the lawyer who got William Kennedy-Smith off and has worked on many high profile cases. He's a master at not only playing the jury, but the media as well. The truth is Rushbo got a split decision...and one I think we can all deal with. It prohibits the individual communications...patient/doctor privilidge from being used for prosecution...meaning the DA can't question why a doctor feels he needs to issue thousands of highly adictive pills to Rusho. However, it doesn't prevent the DA from using the prescriptions along with a cumulative history...doctor shopping...that could show Rushbo was not just a user, but a dealer as well.
The Palm Beach prosecutor has been treading very lightly here. He's got his hands full with both Black and the ACLU and has little support from his state government. If he's gonna shoot, he's gonna shoot to kill...have an iron-clad case that even a skilled lawyer like Black can't wiggle out of. Stay tuned...
