3. 'bible'
People just picked the first answer because they're afraid of what their god will do to them if they don't pick the one with "bible" in it.

4. Frightening, even if it's unscientific. Bible as scientific text???
I do not understand these people. Their faith is so fragile, so dependent upon accepting parables as scientific fact, that they refuse to explore the wonders of the world that their God has created, including human intelligence (or lack thereof).

7. Totally Insane!
I cannot believe that people think Biblical "creationism" ought to be taught in anything but a religious school. I do not want my tax dollars being spent on teaching people the old testament version of how we got here. Are they going to learn about all those generations of "begats"?
Where does it stop? I know! on the 7th day there shall be no more class.

8. I actually only think the 36% is scary.
There's nothing wrong with having "intelligent design" as a component of your religious beliefs. If it helps you to square away scientific facts with what your religion teaches you, great. The only time when a problem arises is when people try to teach ID in the classroom. It's pseudoscience, because they are tying to use scientific findings to bolster a pre-determined conclusion.

But if you literally believe that Adam and Eve inhabited the earth along with the dinosaurs 6000 years ago, you are a FOOL. There is a lot of allegory and metaphor in the Bible. It was not meant to be taken as FACT. Strange that some Christians think that a thing must be 100% factual in order to contain spiritual truth.

Silly, silly fundies.

11. Is anybody else surprised that SC said only 36%???
I'm amazed. I have a lot more respect for southern culture than a lot of progressives, but even I'm stunned that South Carolina only said 36% strict Biblical Creationism. 58% at least came down in the reasonable vicinity of rationality.
