Abramoff himself didn't give them money but he apparently encouraged or "directed" his clients to give generiously to politicians of parties which they did. It would help to go to the link for the whole story. ;)

5. That's correct. In fact, a chart was linked in here

a couple of days ago showing that the #2 on the list of contribution recipients was a Democrat, but that the contributions were all done directly by the tribes under Abramoff's direction, or by other organizations ditto.

7. Kos of the Daily Kos was on the Majority Report about 2-3 weeks

ago and talking about this issue. He doesn't seem to think that Dorgan is dirty in any way. This money came in after Dorgan had worked to get some Indian issues approved. There doesn't appear to be any sign of prior contact with abramoff's staff or any sort of quid pro quo. Interestingly enough all of the information about Dorgan getting this contribution was released by a REPUBLICAN LAWYER. Looks like an attempt to tar Dorgan to make it look like "they all do it."
