GWB Must Resign. Now.
After two weeks of an increase of GWB being more honest in public, maybe this man has finally begun coming to his senses. Maybe he is willing to finally own up to the NUMEROUS horrible, sad and often unnecessary mistakes he has made during his term in office so far.

Maybe.

If true, there come obligations on anyone admitting mistakes to rectify them. Restore America, if you will, to the status it enjoyed before he came along to botch it up. GWB's responsibility here to America and God is to RESIGN. NOW. QUICKLY. And let someone else into the Oval Office to repair his unrecognizable America.

Look closely at his record:

a) His attempts at Social Security Reform, Medicare Reform and Medicaid Reform have all been failures. Nobody's buying. Dead issues. And American poor and elderly and children suffer worse now than under Clinton because the US social safety net has been gutted.

b) Fiscally, the Trade Deficit is at the highest it has ever been and is still rising. The Federal Budget Deficit is unspeakbly huge. NO ONE - Dem or Reep - agrees with GWB on his fiscal policies of taxcuts and runaway spending. Our rich are richer than ever and enjoy ever more tax relief and gifts of business welfare. Meanwhile, the middle class are saddled with the highest ratio of income to tax through the AMT which Congress chose not to work on until 2007. The least able to afford taxes are the ones paying the most in terms of income ratio. Sad, very sad.

c) Socially, GWB's promotion of HIS God and the God of his white, fat, suburban, GOP backers at the expense of everyone else's beliefs has engendered more litigation concerning the Founder's idea of church-state separation than ever before. We can't even say Happy Christmas to each other without some crackpot somewhere throwing a hissy fit. Women's rights are fading into the sunset. Today an Appellate Judge sent a gay man from Zimbabwe who was marked for death by that nation for no other reason except that he is gay to his African home. The gay man had sought US asylum protection, but the US made him return to Zimbabwe to certain death because of a "technicality". Where is there any moral and judicial mercy here?

d) The Mother of All Mothers - GWB's War On Iraq, has so far cost billions upon billions and way too many American lives in that bungled war. Today the press notes that the Pentagon wants A HALF OF A TRILLION DOLLARS NEXT YEAR FOR IRAQ. And who knows how many more troops will die by that time? Furthermore, GWB today told us he will stay put in Iraq until there is a victory. He forgot he told us that the war to remove Saddam would take no more than 90 days and there would be flowers in Baghdad streets. He even went on a photo op on a ship to announce the the Iraq misssion was done. Yet, that lie then reveals the lie today that there will be a victory for the US there. I don't think there will EVER be a victory there. If so, it should have happened by now. Why hasn't it, then? Because Iraq is GWB's and his GOP's BIGGEST AND LOUSIEST MISTAKE IN ALL TIME AMERICAN HISTORY. No electricity, no clean water. And death abounding. In GWB's push to make Iraq free, he has probably killed more people doing so than Saddam did when he was in power. Iraq is worse now than before GWB set foot there. I wonder if God even is able to forgive GWB for Iraq?

Well, there you have it. Clear to me Bush does not deserve his pRezidency which - oh by the way - was probably stolen from American voters in both elections, if you ask a few million people.

I have no use for him. He needs to leave DC and return for good to Crawford NOW, this very second, and quit putting the hurt on so many of us Americans and countless numbers of Iraqis. May God in His Heaven have mercy on us.

When he said the war was based on mistakes, but it is justified. That alone should be enough reason for him to resign or to be forced to resign.

5. Forcing is my aim, Christa
Can you imagine all of us now calling the GOPers on Iraq, Delay, Rove+Plame, more tax cuts, Cindy Sheehan, etc., etc.............

Instead of fracturing ourselves, hit him where it hurts. One HUGE, united voice of GWB dislikers shouting across the land for his resignation?

Worked back in the day for LBJ and then Tricky Dick.

Why not now???

GWB is in office because GOD put him there!

:sarcasm:

Although I think a lot of people actually believe that. :(

4. Remember when the trad deficit was high under Clinton?
Clinton got roasted alive...

Not that Clinton did shit about it either (or poppy or reagan before him and they started this unholy mess), but wasn't * saying how he's restore honor and dignity to the white house?

So why hasn't restored any honor or dignity? This trade deficit is bad news. Thanks to offshoring too.

The executive class has more than enough wealth to put America back on top. Yet they are choosing to worsen the problem; even after getting tax cut after tax cut, with the rest of us to pick up the slack.

Oh, the ol' dollar, she's gonna go down all right...

8. Nice to still dream, isn't it?
Sorry, I don't mean to be snarky or anything. It just isn't going to happen, not now and not ever. He was a self-absorbed idiot before 9/11 and the Iraqi mess and will be one long after he leaves office on January 20, 2009 (and no earlier). Therefore, we can say he should resign or has to resign all we want but it's simply not going to happen.

I suggest that we take all of the things you listed as reasons why GWB should resign, blame them on the current leadership on Capitol Hill, and take out our anger and frustration on those people. That, my friend, is a place where we can still do something. But let's go there and use our dreams for further down the road and happiness that will come when it is due.

11. You could be right hopein8
But I'm still an optimist. Me and my friends of the 60s kept on and on until two US presidents bit the dust.

If no impeach, then resign mofo. One way or other he's gotta go. We The People run the nation, not GWB or GWB-lickers, no matter what the GOP says to us. In numbers there IS power. We just gotta talk this up amongst ourselves.

Whether he resigns is for him to decide; for us, however, the mandate is to charge and prosecute him for his crimes. No escape from that responsibility; unless one wants to be a collaborator of Bush and his neoconster gang.

Peace.

I'm thinking we better get something accomplished, and quickly.

By the way, your post sounds a lot like my first post.

It's wonderful to have you here. Fantastic.

May we return our country back to it's intended purpose, right away.
