Question about countries labor is outsourced to...
I have always wondered, do the following countries that receive most of our outsourced labor have national minimum wage laws or not? If they do, what is their min. wage equate to in US dollars?

- Mexico
- India
- China

If anyone has info on this, respond.

I've tried doing some googling, but haven't came up with anything.

1. try average annual salary per capita....
for each nation. that's the only way i've seen foreign wage stats quoted.
if they have a minimum wage, it's insanely low.

2. Don't know it for Mexico, but they are suffering from outsourcing too...
so apparently the salaries there are way too high for our companies as well. With the markets opened up in China and other East and Southeast Asian countries, Mexican workers are now losing jobs by the thousands as Multinational corporations move on to even CHEAPER labor. That is part of the reason why we are having an uptick in illegal immigration into this country, isn't free trade grand? :sarcasm:

3. Probably none of them do
but there are fixed costs to run anything. China is doing everything the cheapest way now.

4. For techies
You can live like royalty in India or China on the local, free market, prevailing wage for techies. (About 40%-60% of comparable US wages for experienced techies).

Namastay. I am planning to paint a Tilaka/Bindiya on my wife's forehead. We already have a Ganeesh idol on one of our bookcases, and have Nan bread with Jee for breakfast.

6. China has almost no regulations that i know especially for assembly
workers. there are many "Campuses" in the various provinces where workers live and work and make not very much. I'm going to guess Chinese mine worker is probably one of the worst jobs in the world.

7. Thanks for the input.
I'm still trying to dig for more info on it.

One more question:

Is slavery still legal in any of these nations?
