Ken Lay Begs Former Enron Employees Not to Tell On Him...
Edited on Wed Dec-14-05 09:47 AM by The Whiskey Priest
Yesterday, Lay made an impassioned speech before a group of Houston business and academic leaders. The main theme was, “Truth is a great rock.” Lay stated that only if former employees (read unemployed) would stand up before the “terror of the prosecution,” then he would be found innocent.

In other words, Lay is saying: Hey, I as CEO didn’t have anything to do with you being on the street, losing your pension and your home. So, please help me to stay out of prison and don’t throw that rock of truth at me.

1. The man is insane with fear and it's good enough for him.
Anyone else would have been in prison 3 years ago! Maybe Martha Stewart will go and speak up for Kenny Boy.

4. What a fucking jackass
These people are so in love with their money and power that they really do think they can do and get away with anything. They think everyone else is as enamored with them as they are with themselves.

Well, I hope he finds out how much he's REALLY loved and pitied.

7. What I wanna know is
why is a "group of Houston business and academic leaders" inviting an accused felon to speak to them. Do they want tips on how to gut their companies, rob their customers and shareholders, steal their employees pensions and avoid prosecution for over three years?

13. Well that's the level of ethics these days in corporate culture
I'm sure most of the attendees at this forum think Lay is probably innocent. His only crime in their eyes is he got caught. He might even be a hero. Think of the hundreds of millions he was able to scam customers out of. Those damn prosecutors!

I hope his former employees give him his due respect, tell the truth like he pleaded and send the bastard to jail.

Sonia

12. Poor little Kenny boy
As a graduate of the University of Missouri, Ken did the proper alumni thing a few years back and kicked in some big bucks to the new business school being built. This bought him an endowed chair and his portrait hung in the lobby. Within days of the Enron scandal breaking, MU took down his portrait and found other money with which to endow the chair. He is now persona no grata on campus. A great thing, especially considering that we already have enough rich scum running around campus, what with the Walton spawn living in town and all.
