Rita Cosby's voice
Maybe some of you shouldn't make fun of her voice, it may not be her fault. Did she have throat surgery a while back to cause her to talk like that? Her voice is kinda weird but I think some people like that (not me). Her voice remind me of Rep. Rangel's voice. I think he must have had some kind of throat surgery also.

2. Something is wrong there, she needs to inhale deeply before she
speaks. It's really distracting after you begin to notice it.

13. I think you are way out of line with that comment
Unless she is making herself sound that way because she thinks it sounds sexy (which I doubt), then she shouldn't be blamed for sounding different. But, in any case its a long stretch for you to imply that you know anything about her sex life. That's a cheap shot.

6. Not a TV News voice.
I see her gasping and gulping her way through her show and I think "What ARE they teaching these young-uns these days?"

I don't mind the "huskiness" of it, Hell, look at where a rough around the edges voice got Brenda Vacarro.

But that crap of her trying to read a 700 cc. prompter screen on only 300 cc. of air is for the birds.

My attempt was unsuccessful, unfortunately. FOX Brown-shirts dragged me away.

9. Hey, pal, that's not too friendly...
Rita's voice may get under my skin sometimes, but that's as far as I go.

And she is kinda cute.

But she needs to take more cues from Keith Olbermann instead of going for all the sensationalist BS.

She is hell on earth. If you want to torture me, force me to watch that one and O'Lielly back to back. I'll confess to the 9/11 plot.

8. Hey....Rangel is like......75 years old!
Not fair to compare his gorgeous clearly progressive and strong "take not shit" voice to one of a 40ish News Reader bimbo whore!

It's just not fair, I say!

17. Look if someone has a crippling disability
that makes their job impossible to do well, then that person shouldnt be in the job.

This is not a job where superficial aspects of a persons voice and face can be ignored, face it. TV News requires moderately good looks, as well as the passing ability to read copy.

24. I'm always getting her confused with my neighbor's barking dog.
She doesn't look like one; in fact she's pretty, but I can't stand her voice. She sounds too throaty, like she might be doing that on purpose.

31. LOL so true
when she says AROOOBA... I want to strip off my shoes, sharpen my toenails into points and do handstands while scratching them on a chalkboard.

Her voice could peel the paint off an old navy ship.

She gasps for air when she reports the latest breaking news from Aruba.

Rita should put that vibrator away when she is on TV.

I'll give her credit for being the first female vacuous baritone on TV. (I stole that depiction from Doonesbury)
