How do Fundies justify breaking one of the Ten Commandments?
I mean seriously...
The Ten Commandments are the cornerstone of one's belief in God.
The rules we were told to live by if you believe in such things.
The Ten Commandments don't say
Thou shalt not abort unborn babies (cause even Mother Nature has a hand in that sometimes)
They don't say
Thou shalt not have sex with the someone of the same sex.
They don't say either of those things...however, these fundies fight those battles day in and day out.
However, they DO say
Thou shalt not kill.
It isn't amended to say, Thou shalt not kill except when a jury of your peers says it is okay.
It is very simple.
Why is it the fundies throw out the simplest and easiest lessons in the Bible--yet they defer to convoluted interpretions of passages to further their agendas?
Thou shalt not kill.
Seems to me if our society was based on Christian fundamentals as they always claim--that the Death Penalty would be a no-brainer. It wouldn't exist.

6. They don't
However, that doesn't keep them from trying to legislate from the Bible.
Just pointing out the hypocrisy.

4. Because they are hypocrites

This is a key question that really can't be answered by christian advocates of the death penalty.

But I think the catholics are against it officially, so on that score that denomination is not hypocritical.

7. Execution is not murder.
Execution is a consequence for committing the most horrendous crimes against society. I'm not a fundie either but that is my rational.

Shooting/killing an unarmed man in the back during the course of a felony robbery is murder. Williams is reported to of taken a clerk into the back room and shot him in the back after he got the robbery cash. That is cold blooded murder. Williams was convicted on this case and 3 separate other similar scenario murders of innocent citizens who just went to work.

8. See answer under "Jimmy Swaggert". Serial saves.
There is a verse in the Bible about it and how JC does not like it, I wish I could remember it. but it seems the Fundies forget it too.

10. Because in their version of Christianity, the only commandments are:
Thou shalt not be gay
Thou shalt not question the government unless its run by Dems
Thou shalt vote Republican

11. Everybody should know the answer to this one
The commandment says thou shalt not murder in the origional. Now you might see execution as murder; but another person might see execution as not murder.

This is also how they get around war.

12. Also, isn't there a statement somewhere that
says "vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord" meaning that God doesn't want revenge killings, that he will take care of the miscreants Himself.

13. Actually it say "Thou shalt not murder", but I doubt they are probably...
aware of that. But they are seemingly not alone, are they?
