Since when was Norm Coleman ever "a former left-wing radical"?
I thought he was always a grade-A butthead repukazoid.

I was reading a blog entry about Eugene McCarthy, and ran across this:
Norm Coleman, current junior U.S. Senator from Minnesota, has issued a statement in tribute. Not surprising--Coleman's office generates a press release whenever he sneezes. What is somewhat surprising--and, yes, maybe even a little touching--is that Coleman, a former left-wing radical (remember those?) marks McCarthy as one of the reasons he got into politics.

Is this true? Is Coleman just another David Horowitz who went so far left, he turned right?

I only know what I know about Coleman since his last election.

1. He is displaced from the east coast (NY or NJ?)
but I don't know much about him either. I think of him with disdain when I recall his interactions with Mr. Galloway.

4. Wow.
That explains it, sort of.

That is indeed a radical change. He's sort of the Repug counterpart to the self-loathing "ex-gay"!

6. Normie's no Horowitz.
I think Horowitz is mostly batshit crazy,
Norman is a souless calculating sleazeball opportunist.
(and I've known him since the begining of his A.G. days)

7. On the other hand, Norm completely lacks Horowitz's charm and tact
(Translation: he's even worse at communicating than moonbatshit-insane traitor David Horrorbitch.)
