AG Cal.(Dem) voted for the Groper
Attorney General Bill Lockyer, often mentioned as a possible Democratic candidate for California governor in 2006, said Saturday he voted for Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger in this month's recall election.

"It was the first time I ever voted for a Republican in my life," Lockyer said during a speech at the Institute for Governmental Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. "What Arnold Schwarzenegger represented for me was hope, optimism and change, and I want that."

3. I hope this is purely cynical
I can, at some level, respect a cold-hearted calculation to vote for Arnold if he thinks it can win a Democrat (him) political power later.

But even then it's terrible. And if he was sincere, then God help us.

4. I'm sure that he was the ONLY DEMOCRAT to vote for Arnold
California is such a conservative/Republican state, that Arnold probably easily got a majority of the votes without many votes from Democrats.

13. obviously not
but if you are a California elected official who only days before the election spoke on behalf of Davis and suggested that Arnold should "voluntarily" submit to an investigation of his history of sexual assault I don't think you expect him to go out and brag about voting for the guy.

I also have a problem with Democratic officeholders who vote Republican.

5. No Joke
I just can't believe this statement.

After his speech, Lockyer also took a swipe at Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante, the only major Democrat who ran as a replacement for Davis if the governor were recalled.

Asked why he didn't vote for his fellow Democrat, Lockyer said, "You know the people in your profession really well. You know who works hard and who doesn't. Cops know that about cops. Doctors know that about doctors. I know that about politicians."

Hate to tell him this but old arnie ain't ready for politics.....

11. Arnie has never held an elected post.
How would he know whether he worked hard or not?

6. The guy is a dipshit who doesn't deserve ONE vote.
He really thinks he voted out of a bogus representation of hope, optimism, and change?

Another Norm Coleman in the works...

The only other things I could say are violent and nasty in nature.

7. I find this to be offensive
He should have kept his mouth shut. Needless to say, if I voted in CA, I would not support him in a primary. I would vote for him in a general electoin, holding my nose; but that's it.

9. Want to hear a good one?
I have a friend that attended a Dem dinner party last month and was a guest at the table where Lockyer was seated.

He told her that Ashcroft is trying to have him arrested, and it is keeping him ever so busy...

When a perp gets convicted of a felony, we all know that the felon may no longer bear arms. In practice, it is not that common that felons call up their local cop shop and ask them over to pick up their armaments... So Lockyer has been taking a proactive stand on this and sending over his troops to search and sieze - the results that all sorts of stuff is being pulled out of circluation, ranging from guns to flam-throwers and everything else...

Seems that Ashcroft doesn't like that, considers it a crime, and wants to arrest Bill for it.

Go figure...

15. Traitor
plain and simple...I don't care what personality conflicts he had with Bustamante. This election was too important for this bullshit.

I will vote for "B-1" Bob Dornan in 2006 before I vote for this turncoat.
