Republicans, pharmaceuticals and Oxycontin
Edited on Sun Oct-19-03 09:46 AM by The Backlash Cometh
Now that Rush Limbaugh let the cat out of the bag, the fur is flying. In today's Orlando Sentinel, you can find a five part series on Oxycontin. The bottomline: The F.D.A. should have regulated it better. In other words, Rush Limbaugh was sucker punched by his own politics! IMHO.

Pain pill leaves death trail

"Sylvia Cover remembers her husband telling the physician, 'Just fix me up, Doc, so I can get back to work and take care of my family.'"

"Six months later, Gerry Cover was dead."

<snip>

From paper:

"Most likely to Die: White men ages 30 to 60, with back pain. Of those who died from oxycodone, 52 percent were white men ages 30 to 60. The makers of OxyContin refer to people who die while taking the medication as drug abusers. The company's drug-abuse prevention programs have been aimed almost entirely at teenagers."

Article is difficult to cut and paste, So ...
Go to: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/ and launch series.
