Bush's mommy defends him on Dateline tonight
and bashes the Democratic field, calling them a "sorry lot". Can anyone recommend a good anti-nausea medication?:puke:

1. Concubine of Evil, Progenitor of Evil
She has nothing useful to say. She's a negative and destructive person. She has no relevance, and I hope that most people quit buying into that "nation's grandmother" crap long ago.

10. love that "Concubine of Evil." Great anti-Bush tagline for the
upcoming campaign.

I guess Pickles is the Concubine-in-Training.

17. he's done this quite often
when the SEC was investigating him over, I believe, his shady Harkin deals (he's had so many shady deals, it's hard to keep track these days), he held a press conference and dragged Babs on stage, who huffed that it makes her "pretty darned mad when people say mean things about my Georgie."

Georgie isn't very much of a man at all, is he?

3. Nixon
Didn't Richard Nixon once discribe Barb Bush as "nasty"?

Seems I read that once but I can't find no reference of it now on the web.

If true, THAT would be saying something!

Someone printed a transcript or portions of it last week and it seems Poopy maligned the Dem's "vicious rhetoric" when attacking his son, the Anti-Christ.

to promote Bush* lately.

But that is to be expected, considering who owns the joint.

7. Barbara Bush is an evil, vindictive bitch
I used to blame Nancy Reagan for their fights, but if you read between the lines (and not tht general media coverage, which portrays her as a kindly, grandmother type) you'll see just how nasty she is. The media is afraid of her and goes along with the game.

on a trip to where he was shot down as a pilot in WWII. Otherwise known as the scene of the crime.

22. Will CNN have the witness Mierzejewski on hand?
No! Absolutely not.

From J.H. Hatfield's book "Fontunate Son" and we all know what happened to Mr. Hatield.

Mierzejewski stated that he witnessed "a puff of smoke" emerge from the plane and then quickly dissipate. The decorated WWII vetran asserted that no more smoke was visible, that Bush's Avenger "was never on fire" and that "no smoke came out of his cockpit when he opened his canopy to bail out." Only one man exited the Barbara, and that was the pilot himself, Mierzejewski alleged. "I was hoping I would see some other parachutes. I never did. I saw the plane go down. I knew the guys were still in it. It was a hopeless feeling."

Airmen Thomas R. Kenne, a pilot from another carrier, also was a witness to the fact.

It would be nice if both these men were gonna be on CNN tonight.

Al Franken was on NPR's 'What Do You Know' program two Saturdays ago, and he was describing an encounter on a flight with Barbara Bush. He mentioned how he 'sort of made fun of' George W. and that she became 'very uncivilized' towards him as a result.....I mean, seriously....would you expect any mother NOT to react similarly?

16. The guy's in his 50s, and supposedly the leader of the free world
He should be able to fight his own battles. And having been in politics for generations, the Bushes should be used to the fact that--gasp!--people will criticize your efforts. Tough shit for Babs and Dubya; if they can't handle it, they can stay out of politics. In fact, they're quite welcome to do so.

are forever their children. I am a successful attorney and my mother STILL asks me if I've locked my car.

21. does she go on TV and bitch that you're being picked on?
does she go to the judges who've ruled against you and yell at them?

There's a difference between maternal concern and having a grip on the reality that your children will face differing opinions in life.

Not sure what making sure you've locked your car has to do with this subject, but it's nice of her to check up on you like that, if you can put up with the smothering.

Edited on Sun Oct-19-03 10:23 AM by Teledu
Duh. But if someone badmouthed me to her, she would definitely defend me......The point about mom making sure I've locked my car even though I am a successful attorney means that moms do not care what station in life you have achieved. They still see you as their child and will react first and foremost in a motherly way. Got it now?

25. I get what you're saying, but I don't see the relevance
in Babs and Dubya's case, what George is experiencing isn't bad-mouthing, it's the differences of opinion/platform that come with his profession. Hell, it's politics, and in that context Georgie Porgie has been treated with exceeding civility. Babs knows this; she's a lot of things, but she's not thin-skinned--it's more like a leathery reptilian hide.

But, if George was my kid, I'd probably call him to make sure he'd locked the car often. Hell, I'd probably call him about 50 times a day to make sure his shoes were tied. Of course, she probably gave up on that a long time ago and bought him velcro-strapped shoes.

She is a witch!

Remember this quote from the mother of the moron?

"Why should we hear about body bags and deaths and how many, what day it's going to happen, and how many this or what do you suppose? Oh, I mean, it's, not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?" - This is from the former first lady, Barbara Pierce Bush.

20. So George, how do you feel about your mom and dad?
<quote>As he grew older, the fury towards his father was increasingly directed against himself in depressive drinking. But it was not all his father's fault. There was also his insensitive and domineering mother.

Barbara Bush is described by her closest intimates as prone to "withering stares" and "sharply crystalline" retorts. She is also extremely tough. When he was seven, Bush's younger sister, Robin, died of leukaemia and several independent witnesses say he was very upset by this loss. Barbara claims its effect was exaggerated but nobody could accuse her of overreacting: the day after the funeral, she and her husband were on the golf course.

She was the main authority-figure in the home. Jeb describes it as having been, "A kind of matriarchy... when we were growing up, dad wasn't at home. Mom was the one to hand out the goodies and the discipline." A childhood friend recalls that,"She was the one who instilled fear", while Bush put it like this: "Every mother has her own style. Mine was a little like an army drill sergeant's... my mother's always been a very outspoken person who vents very well - she'll just let rip if she's got something on her mind." According to his uncle, the "letting rip" often included slaps and hits. Countless studies show that boys with such mothers are at much higher risk of becoming wild, alcoholic or antisocial.

On top of that, Barbara added substantially to the pressure from his father to be a high achiever by creating a highly competitive family culture. All the children's games, be they tiddlywinks or baseball, were intensely competitive - an actual "family league table" was kept of performance in various pursuits. At least this prepared him for life at Andover, where emotional literacy was definitely not part of the curriculum. Soon after arriving, he was asked to write an essay on a soul-stirring experience in his life to date and he chose the death of his sister. His mother had drilled it into him that it was wrong when writing to repeat words already used. Having employed "tears" once in the essay, he sought a substitute from a thesaurus she had given him and wrote "the lacerates ran down my cheeks". The essay received a fail grade, accompanied by derogatory comments such as "disgraceful". </quote>
