Message to Bush: "Minnesota is a Blue State Because of You."
Several hundred people, including a very enthusiastic group of Ethiopian Bush protesters, turned out to protest Junior's policies over the lunch hour today. Junior was at the Hilton in downtown Minneapolis for a fundraiser for Mark Kennedy, a Bush Clown, who votes with him 98 percent of the time.

Beth Jones of Hopkins was one of a few hundred protesters who showed up outside the fundraiser in downtown Minneapolis.

1. If that's true, then what does that say about the Democrats?
If the best we can do is, "We are better because the other side sucks", then we are potentially in a lot of trouble.

5. I don't know what that says about Dems, but I know what YOUR post says...
It says sometimes Dems overanalyze things wayyy too much.

7. There were lots of messages. This is the sign the MSM chose
to use on its website.

There were people with signs about the illegal Iraq war, Abu Ghraib, Katrina relief, meddling in Ethiopia, tax giveaways for the wealthy, and more.

Perhaps half of the protesters were Dems, btw, and those that weren't don't worry about Dem messaging which is very disparate regarding the war especially. We have plenty of Greens and independents in Minnesota. The Green Party of America was founded in Minnesota. Independents elected a third party governor in 1998.

9. Short and Sweet
No need for an essay on a placard. I'm pleased with "Bush Yechhh!", or "Bush = a total JACKASS".
I could go on....

18. That's how the game is played. And has been played.
Both sides controlled by the same puppeteer.

A puppeteer who uses money rather than strings.

19. Yes!
I think that most don't recognize that they're even being played, but we're outsiders and we see it while they can't.

Another thing I've come to realize is that politicians think of us (voters/the public) as an obstacle to be overcome, if not an outright enemy.

I mean, you don't manipulate, lie, or tell-half-truths to people you respect and honor.

3. yes, and don't buy this bullshit about Mark Kennedy and Coleman
voting against drilling ANWR.
there was a head count before an actual count of votes.
There were plenty of GOP votes for drilling, so it was 'safe' to let Kennedy and Coleman vote against it.
Now somebody's trying to give Kennedy some award for voting against it.
If it had been close, and their Bushite masters had given them other marching orders, they would have blindly followed.

4. That isn't true
Minnesota hasn't voted for a Repub candidate for President since 1972, and only twice since 1956. The state of MN has been blue forever, not just since the arrival of Bush.

13. Hey, K! I forgot to charge my batteries so no pictures today
at least from me.

We covered a full city block facing the main entrance of the Hilton and surrounding corners. The streets running past the sides of the hotel were blocked off with yellow tape and police cars.

We couldn't get a good view of the main entrance because there was a 17' trailer truck marked "POLICE BOMB SQUAD" parked right in front. We yelled at a few of the guests arriving in their furs and dark cars and dark windows but I expect most snuck in back doors, having been provided directions for their secret entry.

Three U of M students attempted to cross the street to see what was happening at the other entrances but two of them were grabbed and placed in a police car. The other one slipped away. I'll know more about what happened to them later.

Two nice women from "Hells Kitchen" came by with a cart handing out free hot coffee. That was great for warming up the hands. :scared:

Mark Kennedy is gambling by cozying up to Bush. Local news show just how opulent the lunch was.
