A neighbor told me the other day
if you are pissed now about this administration then hold on and get ready for the republicans next move. I was told that B*sh may try to change the laws to be re-elected with another term. I have been stewing on this for a few days. If B*sh does this it maybe a good thing for us. If B*sh would have another possible term. So would Bill Clinton. He would kick B*shes ass up and down the sidewalk. Is this even possible that he could change the rules on terms of a president?

To stop elections because of "terrorism". It didn't happen obviously.

2. just read the constitution
It's right there! :)

(Need a hint? Try one of the amendments...

...the 22nd...

also the part about how an amendment is made to the constitution...

try article 5!)

The Constitution is the progressive's best friend in stopping the Bush administration.

14. No precident
Lincoln didn't postpone elections in 1864, when half the country was at war with the other half.

17. thank god for that, I do look for some major hokey pokey
I believe that Bush pulled out all stops because he does not want open scrutiny of 9-11, if
the American people don't wake up, we could be looking at a permanent 1 party rule by
hook or by crooks.

25. no.
Article II, Section 1 of the US Constitution:

"The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years..."

Please, people, read the Constitution. Here's a copy. I'm not trying to be a wise-ass; it's just that try as they might to circumvent it, the Constitution places some very comforting limits on just what the Bush administration can get away with.

28. I have read the constitution but since when do these people
follow the rules, they KNEW redistricting Texas was illegal and they did it anyway, they
are 100% committed to a permanent 1 party rule.

10. No. You can be elected twice, but if you finish more than two
years of another's term, then you may only be election once. That means that you can serve slightly less than 10 years.

Because maybe I am a little further left than I am willing to admit, however...there seems to be a laundry list of offenses that should have spurred a revolt, yet, nothing.

Edited on Fri Dec-09-05 06:06 PM by Karenina
the lengths to which the current *regime will go to maintain its power is naive or willfully ignorant. YES THEY WOULD DARE. The signers of the PNAC represent a very serious threat to the world as we know it. Please search LunaC's "PNAC 101" posts and look up Christian Reconstructionism and Dominionism. Then take a break, roll a joint, pour yourself a glass of wine, or drink some yogi tea before you look up Leo Strauss, U of Chicago and check out his adherents. This ain't no party, this ain't no disco, this ain't no foolin' around...

South after Katrina, it is 37 degrees down there.

32. Yes, the only reason he has lasted this long is because he
doesn't have to do any work. He doesn't have to listen to any dissent.

All he has to do is be the center of attention, which he loves, and act like the big man on campus, again which he loves.

24. What's the point?
Bush is just a mascot anyway. Like Reagan. Seriously- could there possibly be a bigger or more obvious stooge occupying the WH? The man can't even speak- c'mon, it's clear that Bush himself is nothing but a conduit to power for other people, and he can easily be replaced.

It's like blaming Ronald McDonald for heart disease... know what I mean?

35. Two years ago I thought they could do this, but since the Dimson's
polls are totally in the toilet, I really don't think it's possible now. If we all wanted a dictator, we sure as Hell would pick one with a higher IQ. Bush can just go home to Crawford, sit on his porch and call himself a dictator for all I care after his term is up; I just want him out of Wash.
