More remarkable pictures from the Philippines, protesting Bush
Edited on Sun Oct-19-03 05:44 AM by lebkuchen
If it weren't for the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in 1991, the U.S. would probably still have bases over there. Imagine what life would have been like for our military stationed in the RP during the years of a Bush II presidency. It was bad enough under Reagan and Bush I.

Filipina protesters carry condoms during an anti-Bush protest near the U.S. embassy in Manila October 15, 2003.

1. Will it hit our news, I have not looked at news this morning.
From what I have read this looks like a trip to sell arms.

11. I doubt the news will pick that up...
I heard it mentioned but that was it...nothing more...only more gratification for the lying smirk...

no pictures of the protests will probably ever make it to our media...pathetic...

5. It Is Sad Commentary That Philippine Citizens Can Protest
and are motivated to do so yet Americans cannot or are unwilling to do so.

6. He only saw supporters.
In my hometown newspaper, they mentioned that protestors had been removed and only Bush supporters were left in the places where he would see them.
Apparently, he thanked the demonstrators (I am assuming the ones supporting him that he was allowed to see).

9. And he never reads the newspapers...
In my hometown newspaper, they mentioned that protestors had been removed and only Bush supporters were left in the places where he would see them.

Has he ever even been in town when the demonstrations in DC are happening?

Seems to me that anyone "brave" enough to land on a ship ought to be brave enough to stay in town when the citizens of the U.S. are marching in the streets. Is he afraid of the people of his own country?

13. Massive troops called out everywhere to suppress dissent:
Japan: 9000 troops for a 24 hr. stay.

Thailand: 20,000 troops. The place is an armed camp.Guess the sex trade won't get their foreign business. Maybe they will bring down the government.

16. Is Phillipine disset tied to the U.S. foreign policy from an earlier era?
Wasn't the Phillipines at one time a sort of semi-colony of the U.S. - I believe during the Teddy Roosevelt era?

Anyone know the scoop on this?

17. He's hated over there
as much as he is here. Hell! He's hated all over the entire WORLD! Are those protesters seen by chimp or are they delegated to being blocks and blocks away...as we "free" people are?
