I had an interesting dinner tonight...
My best friend and her husband took termite and I out for dinner. I happened to see an old friend...it was nice seeing him and we talked about stuff n things. Then we started to chat about the Iraq mess. His nephew apparently just came back for two weeks. Told his uncle (my friend) that he had been in Iran. Mike said you mean Iraq. He was not mistaken and was adamant that he was in Iran.

I don't know if the young man was mistaken, but if this is true serious shit is coming down. Hope those that voted to let Bush* make neverending war are happy. But maybe we are ok! John Kerry fought to have the language taken out, which prevented a wider war. But I wonder if it will stop Bush*?

Time for another terror attack to fan the flames of war. Unfortunately We The people are going to pay the price.

How shameful and sad that we have been cowed into accepting this.

1. Oh sh*t
The same exact thing happened during the transition between afghanistan and iraq. Bush was positioning troops on the borders of Iraq 6 months before the US even went to the UN to convince them. These people are f*cking insane. War hungry, psychotic, and insane.

WE haven't been cowed into accepting this. It was those 90% of f***ing idiots who thought the events of 9/11 bestowed special powers on the unelected moronic fraud. I've never accepted a g.d. thing this piece of shit administration has EVER done, including OCCUPYING THE WHITE HOUSE.

8. apparantly nothing.
When historians chronicle the end of American Democracy, December 2000 will the the date they will point to.
The ruling elites learned that they can steal an election, and the American sheeple will let them.

5. I'm sure your friend was mistaken
He meant Iraq and said Iran. My stepdaughter insisted (before the war began) that her older sister's husband was already in Iraq, when he was actually in Kuwait. I highly doubt that any of our troops could get into Iran without the Iranians making a big stink of it.

10. There were quite a few special ops guys in Iraq well before the invasion.
Edited on Sun Oct-19-03 08:53 AM by snippy
On edit: I actually would be surprised if we did not have special ops guys in Iran trying to support opposition groups and gathering targeting data. The only things which would deter such behavior are a recogntion of international law, a respect for the sovereignty of other nations and a sense of morality. All completely lacking in the Whistle Ass administration.

7. If he was in Iran, they
woudn't have sent him home on leave to spill the beans. Suspect the soldier is geographically challenged. But also do not doubt that Bushco has plans to epand the war.

13. What age is your friend's nephew
Less than 20 years old lessens the probability.

Greater than 23 the nephew probably has enough experience of soldiering to not get caught in Iran which might be politically embaressing.

14. Basically
I'd guess that for a sensitive and difficult operation such as operating unseen in Iran I would be wanting to use my best troops for the task.
