"Flag Burning" Vs. "The War on Christmas"
Edited on Fri Dec-09-05 08:34 AM by SpiralHawk
Which one of these monumental issues is the Greatest Evil Threat to your family's safety?

I can't remember the last time anyone burnt a flag on my block. But maybe I'm missing something and its happening in every other neighborhood in America.

And as for the "War on Christmas," I have decided to strike a strategic alliance with the Magi -- the Three Sacred Astrologers who followed the Sky Signs of the their era.

Caspar, Melchoir, and Balthazar* were and are exemplars of a simple message: "Peace on Earth, Good Will Among All. Further, don't give us no steenkin phony 'Official Propaganda Campaign to torture Christmas Flag Burners and Fruit Cake Freaks."

* Balthazar is not to be confused with Belshazzar (who the New York Times recently used in a telling editorial comparison with George AWOL Bush). Only those with Impregnable Inner Fortitude (TM) will want to research the appalling tale of Bush / Belshazzar.

"Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin" - You, mr. Bush, have been weighed and weighed and found wanting. You are failed.

(KEY) , in the Bible, the mysterious riddle written by a spirit hand on the wall at Belshazzar’s feast.

1. It's all politics for the disengaged (of current reality)
I'm tired of the pandering to the ignorant in today's politics of covering up the real issues.

2. Flag Burning.....
That will be one more civil liberty down the toilet. It's another ploy by the Repugs to toot their patriotic horn. My republican mother told me the other day that she thought it should be outlawed and now has a bit more respect for Hillary Clinton. I asked her when was the last time she had heard of anyone burning a flag and she didn't have a response. She just doesn't get the basic principles of the First Admendment....

mother's response. They might be able to create a good photo op by having the Senator goose-step over to your Mother's house to shake her hand.

6. LOL!
"My republican mother told me the other day that she thought it should be outlawed and now has a bit more respect for Hillary Clinton."
Good thing you put a stop to that, eh?

What a silly post.

8. I guess it would be Christmas - as non-Christians
Edited on Fri Dec-09-05 10:03 AM by meganmonkey
it was always on shaky ground in my family. We celebrated it every year, but I didn't even know what 'God' was supposed to mean until I was about 10. I mean, Jesus? Who in the hell is that?

As for the flag, well, in my family you'll be just fine unless you burn the U of M flag during football season. to my Dad, that is treason

:)

13. Well, don't let mothers burn the apple pie or any other sacred cows.
Nothing like politicians and preachers to stir up the stupidity in the stupid.
