5. It was a tough one

9/11 LIHOP/MIHOP or exposing CIA agent and coverup. I don't think red state Joe American would believe 9/11 LIHOP if it were exposed because it is so hard to fathom anyone could ever be that evil. The mind just won't process it.

I voted for the most recent scandal. The one that may never be exposed because reporters are good at protecting their sources.
When Dubya said that, it sounded to me like he was telling Novak to continue keeping the lip buttoned. And telling the others who were contacted, -- they had better not reveal anything either or something bad will happen to them too. It seemed so chilling, made goosebumps go up my spine.

6. Tough choice

between 9/11 and Wilson/Plame.

I went with Wilson/Plame because it is more recent and because the enemies Bush&Co made with this are VERY powerful. The fear would be mortal fear, not political fear.

I also agree that 9/11 speculation has been so relegated to the "tinfoil hat/conpiracy theory" black hole for so long, it is seen that way deep in too many consciences. Believing anything else is too much shock to process. If completely exposed, GWB, himself, could probably get away with claiming no foreknowledge anyway. So it would not strike mortal fear in HIM.

Fact is, I don't think much of anything scares Bush anymore. Look at all he has gotten away with that is pretty well known.

choosing which one....I chose LIHOP but, I also think the Plame issue and the Bush Nazi thing will be huge.

hedges out 9/11 Coverup because it is recent and is not explainable by any means.

The reasons for 9/11 are so complicated/intertwined with the past administration etc. At worst I think it will be proven that Bush was negligent, even grossly negligent regarding 9/11 - and it will be a long time before that comes out (it will require a Democrat in the WH and probably democrats in control of one branch of Congress before an investigation can be done).

Outing Plame is clear cut treason - it will show people (conservative/liberal etc) that this administration will stop at nothign to silence people. Also, the CIA rank and file will keep Treasongate alive because Bush betrayed one of their own.
