Leahy to oppose Patriot Act?? (was: Leahy just pounded the podium.)
Edited on Thu Dec-08-05 03:03 PM by The Witch
Edit: Did anyone catch the beginning of this press conference? It sounded to me like Leahy was going to oppose the Patriot Act...

Said the Patriot Act would be seen as a *THUMP* "FIAT!" and it wouldn't be respected. It's on C-SPAN 2 -- I just turned it on. He's angry. I am guessing he is not agreeing to it...

Anyone fill me in on what is going on?

3. I wish I knew...
Leahy's making a big deal of this not being credible and how in his home state they really care about the right to privacy and that sort of thing. But I missed the beginning so I don't know what he announced.

He just said that Ted Kennedy's been stopped from getting on airplanes because he's on the terrorists list. "I've always wondered about him!"
