Our superintendent did not dismiss school today
due to ice and snow. Roads all over town are a solid sheet of ice. In the Ozarks, that's bad news. We have already had three bus accidents. Every other district in the region is closed.

I can't belive the superintendent put our kids in danger like that. What is he trying to prove? We have snow days in our schedule just for this kind of thing!

1. Sometimes it seems like a badge of honor for them doesn't it?
My Super says he gets as many calls from parents if he calls it or doesn't call it. Some complain because they have to pay for childcare if the schools are closed. I guess it could be a no win situation.

6. When I worked for MediaOne, our regional President insisted we open
during a very bad snow and ice storm (8" of snow and about an inch of ice-glaze on top). He got all the way to the entrance of the office parking lot, where he rolled his Range Rover. Oddly enough, we did not open that day!

Me? I never left home!

2. That's terrible. Is his name Michael?
As in Superintendent Michael Brown or Superintendent Michael Chertoff? I hope there are no injuries.

5. was school dismissed at noon?
I heard they were dismissing school after they got their 3 hours in, where it could be counted as a day.
