over the same time last year. $127.17 for 10.0 DTH. Am blown away...and that was only for the month of November.

Am quite beside myself. Had to go thru a 20 minute bullshit session with the lame operator when complaining before he would say the increase was 14.2 in June and last month 20% more increase per decatherm... WOW!

Kinda caught me off guard..

Edited on Thu Dec-08-05 10:22 AM by AtomicKitten
Here in California, it's hard to imagine we could be even more screwed than when Enron had its way with us a few years back, but then again we just turned on our heat. Here in San Francisco it is wicked cold. Thanks for the heads up.

9. We live in Sandy, Utah; just outside SLC
I'm worried about the people in the east who have it much worse than me, I'm sure.

2. Decatherm? Never heard that term before
I had to look it up. 1,000,000 BTU's. Is this a measurement used in natural gas bills?

8. Our bills list therms, not decatherms.
I believe a decatherm would be 10 therms. So the OP would be paying about $1.27 a therm and used about 100 therms.

I'm paying about $1.39 a therm, a 14% increase over last year. I used just under 200 therms this past month, which is a 25% decrease over last years usage.

Not that you asked.

10. No, no, it's interesting
I've never had natural gas before, so I don't know the terms. I never want it either. All the houses that use natural gas have that "smell" to them.

And dependence on a pipeline doesn't appeal to me either. I can go out and buy containers of diesel fuel to use my oil furnace, but you can't do that with natural gas.

3. Isn't it great having an oil man for president?
:sarcasm:

I wonder if all those freepers who got their hundred-dollar tax cut even realize that it's more than taken up by increases in oil and gas prices?

4. Thanks a pantload, George Bush and Republlican Oil Cronies
The whole crew of them -- Republicans to a "man" -- are responsible for this.

I hope the American people give the Repubs Hell to pay for this.

While crony corporations Halliburton and Oil Co. profits skyrocket.

6. Yes it sucks. We use less but pay more.
I s talking about our budget plan with someone from the gas company. She said there is a problem because our bills are so high.

I asked, out of curiousity, whether we were using a lot more gas so far this year.

"No," she replied. "Actually you're using LESS this year than last."

They got us screwed and tattoed, until we wake up and stop letting the corps shaft us in this way.

12. The price of natural gas has doubled in one year.
I'm surprised your bill has only increased 34% over that time.
