An interesting thing I noticed about today's young college students:
Many of them seem to think what has been going on in this country is somehow normal. Stolen elections, war protests, illegal wars for oil, over-reactive law enforcement...etc.

After I got over the shock, I realized something:

the 18 year olds were THIRTEEN in 2001. This IS normal for them.

My God, what have we done?

1. And that is why history repeats itself. "Normal" can change that fast.

2. Thanks for noticing
I'm 19 and Bush is basically the only Prez I've ever known, back when I was 11 I didn't pay much attention to politics, but I did defend Clinton from my little friends' viscious attacks over things we knew nothing about. In retrospect, it was pretty funny.

But by the time he's done, Bush will have been Prez for all but one year of my high school career and my whole time in college (not including grad school). Good times, eh?

5. Many expect to profit from the corruption, unfortunately.
They are the first generation of college students born to those who ACTUALLY voted in favor of the Republican Revolution, based on false pretenses in the 1980 election.

However, they remain dedicated, because their families have prospered greatly as a result of their allegiance to the revolution.

They remain true believers.

6. I had this realization this week, too!!!
I work in a bank, and I realized that the people using the DRIVE-THROUGH were BORN in 1989!!!!!! OMG!!!!

Totally clueless. Doubly so because they have been raised in a small town in East Texas. Hopefully at least a few of them will slip through the Southern Baptist cracks (hell, the cracks are freaking HUGE, so it ought to be easy!) and realize their potential as citizens of the world.
