Christmas Light Display Shut Down

So much chaos has been caused over a huge local Christmas display, that it's creator had to shut it down.

Carson Williams put up the elaborate light display at his Mason home and choreographed it all to music. But so many people have been flocking to see it that it's caused a traffic jam in his subdivision. Williams tells FOX19 that there was a car accident in the subdivision Tuesday and the police couldn't get to the scene because of the congestion.

So he's decided to shut it down indefinitely.

If you can view this, it is awesome. I saw one with Vivaldi. Also on the Snopes website.

3. He hates Christmas. The lights say "Happy Holidays!"
Edited on Wed Dec-07-05 08:04 PM by IanDB1
And he has one of those un-American hippy "peace" symbols.

He hates Baby Jesus and he hates our troops!

11. Oh no!
And we're all promoting it. :eyes: Oy. But very impressive and neat. It would get on my nerves though. Heh. There's this one house here on the mountain that always has this great set up. Your basic Christmas scenes that have to do with both religious and secularism. It's very nice and impressive and the nice thing is this house is at the end of the road at the culdasac. Heh. But thanks for sharing. I'll have to show my dad. :D

8. This was on the Today Show
Edited on Wed Dec-07-05 08:11 PM by El Supremo
The music is broadcast on a short range FM transmitter so people can hear it in their cars. It is not on loud speakers. But some turn the music up too high. This is not the first year that he's had the display, but he admitted that the traffic has grown. I suppose that after the Today Show exposure things got out of hand.

13. There is a house in my community
that goes all out like this every year. He has been doing it for 50 years now. The guy has all kinds of moving displays - in the windows, on the roof, all over the yard. You can't just drive by and look at it. You have to park and go up to the house to see the whole display.

The traffic is just horrendous. But the city makes that street a one way street for the month of December. As far as I know, there are few complaints.

How sad that this guy's neighbors can't make this display work for him.

14. There's a peace sign in the display, and NO CROSS!
How shocking that someone so creative would be one of US.

Maybe they should put up a roadblock and ask that people coming to see it, who do not live in the neighborhood should park a few blocks away and WALK.

Assuming any midwestern Americans still remember how ...

Edited on Thu Dec-08-05 11:32 AM by Sequoia
We should get him to join us unless he's here already! I wonder how many fundie types who saw him on the Today Show fumed when they saw that!

All we are saying, is give peace a chance! In memory of John Lennon December 8.
