Wesley Clark: "Bush is the greatest commander-n-chief ever"
This is a flat out lie. Clark never said this, but they said he said it on FAUX News. How can they get away with this?

To me this is like saying Bush is an animal abuser and showing Bush dropping his dog. Way out of context here.

Somebody do something, they cannot get away with this garbage.

Mike

4. Slander?
How is it slander? He certainly is reported as saying something like that, allthough FAUX New's took the words out of context, as is their custom as the WWE of news channels.

Beleive me, its better this all comes out now so we can be prepared for it, rather than have it dropped on us two weeks before the election like the LA Times did with Schwarzenegger.

One way to deal with it is just to point out that everything changed since the aircraft carrier and Action Figure George proved the emperor had no clothes.

6. It is slander because he didn't say it.
They first quoted Clark correctly, than made up another quote a few minutes later off the top of his head. Context and wording is everything if your entire story is the context and wording. They are trying to make it bigger that it is.

They also forgot to mention and after Clark said "George Bush", he also said "and our troops" That means a military effort.

3. Who gives a shit.
The GOP attacks this election have been pretty funny. I think the Clark handlers are "handling" this badly though. He shouldn't run away from these comments. His first comment was made in early 2001, when all he has to say is "yes, I supported the President. He was new, and I thought he deserved a chance to govern. I gave him my 100% support." And the new "revelation" from the Drudge report about his comments in Jan 2002, "well, that was just after September 11, and again, I believed the President deserved as much support as we could give him."

Then Clark can lay down the boom. "Why did I change my mind on the Bush Administration? Simple..." and then list off all the things he disagrees with Bush about. His lying about going to war. His tax cuts which benefited the rich, etc.

If anything, this hurts Bush. Because it underscores Clark's greatest asset. Which is his non-partisanship. "I'm not a rabid anti-Bush Democrat," Clark should say. "I am an American first, and a Democrat second. The problem is that the President has put his own interests ahead of the national interest."

It's not that difficult.

It's hardly scandalous.

5. A public apology should be called for
and a big deal should be made of this. Expose these liars, and discredit them once and for all. I'm not a Clark supporter, but BS is BS. What a horrible thing to accuse someone of saying.

9. No, he was praising the troops and mentioned Bush for the war against
UBL. He was in a room full of liberals and they all cheered when he said it too.

10. Anyone with 1/2 a brain will suspect a lie behind this
The other 1/2 without brains i.e. their conservative rethuglican audience might think Clark looks like a better candidate than Shrub and maybe he can pull alot of republican votes away from Shrub. Just a thought!
