If not Murtha then who?
I know that Murtha is too old, not interested ect... to be interested in running for President in 08.

So my question, who out there has Murtha's stature, clout and ability to make clear and VERY effective speeches like we see every time they let this guy out to play.

I would have said something like Murtha in 08 for a headline but I know how people here would flame me over that without offering a good counter answer. So I have taken it one point past the "FLAMERS", and put the ball in their court.

Anyone have any GOOD ideas for someone that is similar to Murtha for 08

2. Can't be from the Northeast
Yes, I am from the Northeast, but the rest of the country cannot get their mind around a Democrat from the Northeast.

3. The problem is that I dont want somebody similar to Murtha
He is a fairly conservative Democrat, with a hawkish record.

Sure, he is calling to leave Iraq, but it is because, as many other military people, he is able to see that this is lost, and we can thank him for that. However, this does not say us anything about his vision in foreign policy.

His record on economic issues is also fairly conservative.

I am very happy that he called for a withdrawal because it gave credence to the "out of Iraq" movement from somebody who is not a dove, but this does not mean that I would support him as president.

However, you may want to look at Feingold, for example.
