would never just go along with something out of fear of what a 9/11 type hit to the economy would do to their publicly traded stocks, such as if the football bomber had got inside a stadium one of the three times he tried, they did a pretty good job of covering that story didn't they?

Not according to witnesses, not according to anyone not covering for said air marshall.

I imagine this will turn out to be kind of like that brazillian guy the bobbies shot on the london subway. You know somebody pulls a gun and aims it at you, you would probably run like hell too.

Not enough to speculate but here's what comes to mind:

People carrying bombs don't warn you that they're carrying a bomb. "hey dude, I'm carrying a bomb. Isn't that groovy?"

I'm taking bets on "overworked Marshall, so busy, not enough sleep, terrible misunderstanding, leave with pay" etc. being key words in the news on this. I could be wrong but . . . :shrug:
