I waited to get a Canadian link before posting and seeing as things are really, really sketchy didn't want to put it in LBN. HOPEfully it's only a hoax called into the radio station.

Eyewitnesses are telling a local radio station that a plane has crashed in flames in southwestern New Brunswick. The plane, described by some as a four-engine aircraft, apparently went down in water near Pocologan, N.B.

Transport Canada will only say that they have no reports of any missing civilian aircraft.

Capt. John Pulchny, a military spokesman, told The Canadian Press that all military aircraft are accounted for.

He said a Hercules cargo aircraft was in the area on a training mission but the control tower at its home base in Nova Scotia has been in contact.

1. CTV NewsNet is all over this
Nobody can find any trace of debris, and the likely story that's emerging is that the locals probably panicked over a low-flying military training exercise.

4. Military planes and helicopter searching the area

RCMP and search and rescue aircraft are responding to reports of a plane in distress off the coast of southwestern New Brunswick.

Military officials told CBC that an eyewitness in the Point Lepreau area reported a low-flying aircraft that seemed to be having engine trouble.

RCMP have not confirmed any crash, and emergency crews have been sent out to the area around Pennfield, about 60 kilometres west of Saint John.

Search and rescue spokesperson Lieut. Pat Jessop said a military plane and helicopter are searching the area, while a coast guard ship is patrolling the waters.

3. It was only one person who made the report
Search&rescue has no evidence of a crash.
